VICTOR TRETYAKOV
An outstanding contemporary violinist, Victor Tretyakov received his initial musical training at school in Irkutsk, and completed his studies at the Moscow Central School of Music, later finishing the Moscow Conservatory with honors.
His musical career began at 19 while a first-year student of the Moscow Conservatory when he won first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition and received invitations to participate in several international concert tours.
Over the past 40 years his violin performances have attracted huge crowds in concert halls in various parts of the globe. He has performed with repeated success as a soloist and as part of an ensemble with many famous conductors and musicians of our time. Victor Tretyakov’s repertoire covers a wide range of contemporary violin music.
His style of play has been called pitch-perfect and surprisingly harmonious. Abroad Viktor Tretyakov is famous as a brilliant representative of the Russian violin school.
The musician’s activity is honored by high state awards and honors, including the title of People's Artist of USSR. He is a laureate of the State Prize and a Glinka Prize Laureate. He received the Shostakovich Prized awarded by the Yuri Bashmet International Charitable Foundation (1997) and is a recipient of the Russian Triumph Prize for encouragement of achievements in the arts and literature (2002).
Today, Viktor Tretyakov lives and works in Germany.
